Originally from Wales and now living in the Black Country, Susy Wall has always been inspired by her surroundings, and strives to write honest songs that tell the ordinary story, often inspired by the every day moments that often go unnoticed.

Signing up to the 2023 #AlbumWritingClub, hosted by Lights And Lines, Susy took on the challenge of writing and recording an album or EP in just one month. The resulting EP, 'Black is the Country, Blue is the Colour' takes inspiration from work by local Black Country poets and artists such as Liz Berry, Black Country Type and Pete Donnelly (Black Country Nostalgia).

'Black is the Country, Blue is the Colour' won the Best EP category in the competition out of over 50 entries! As a result Susy will be working to turn the EP into a full-length album which will be released on Lights And Lines in 2024.

Lead single Heartsore showcases Susy's stunning voice and excellent songwriting. With simplicity and raw emotion at it's heart, each instrument is given the space and time to shine in this beautiful song.

Released as part of the 2023 #LALSummerSingles series.
